Multiple orders during checkout

Once a shipping address is added to an order on the checkout page, can it be store in the browser temporarily so it can also be used for other shipments when there are multiple orders on the page?

If the same address is entered for the multiple orders, if possible the address should only be saved once to the account, to avoid duplicate addresses being stored.

Is this all possible?
